What crosses between the systems
Four exchanges cover the life of a study.
- Orders and patient identity: from the RIS or HIS to Bayan, over HL7 v2 or FHIR R4.
- The worklist: from Bayan gateway to the modality, over DICOM Modality Worklist, so the exam is acquired under the right patient.
- Images: from the modality to Bayan over DICOM, and to other software over DICOMweb.
- Status and report: from Bayan back to the RIS or HIS.
One source of truth
Your system stays the source of truth for who the patient is. If a name or a number is corrected there, the correction reaches Bayan and is applied with a record, so the archive never drifts away from the RIS.
Opening images from inside your system
A link in your RIS opens the study in Bayan viewer directly, and staff can sign in with your organisation single sign-on, so nobody types a second password.
A ready connector for Nixpend
For centers on Nixpend, the connector is ready: radiology orders are pulled, their status is reported back, and the images open from inside Nixpend with one link.
Questions centers ask
Which standards does Bayan support?
HL7 v2, FHIR R4, DICOM including Modality Worklist, and DICOMweb.
Does integration need a custom project?
Not for systems that speak these standards. What changes from one center to the next is configuration: addresses, codes and which messages are sent.
Can reports written in Bayan reach our RIS?
Yes. A signed report is sent to your system. A center that writes its reports in the RIS can keep doing so, and Bayan shows them.
What if the RIS is on a private network?
The gateway in your center can relay messages between your network and Bayan.
